Abstract: Early insomnia in a six months old infant born to young parents is un-derstood by reference to narcissism, a psycho-analytic concept intro-duced by S. Freud and later deve-loped to make sense of a variety of pathologies. Consultation with a psychoanalyst is the treatment to cure the anxiety responsible for the pain.
